Hola Susan, listening comprehension can be hard to measure, but there are some best practices that will help.
I would focus on what type of content you want to be able to understand (music, news, audiobooks, etc.). I’d suggest content such as podcasts, interviews, etc. to get the best exposure to conversational Spanish.
Then target how much you’d like to be able to understand. For example, if you listen to a song or audio clip and only understand about 10% of what you hear — set a goal to be able to understand 50% – 80%.
