Hi! I’m Yokahira, and I’m from the Dominican Republic. I’m currently studying Psychology, and I’ve also worked as a teacher and tutor with children. I’ve always enjoyed helping others learn, and I love seeing the moment when something finally makes sense to them.
I speak Spanish and English, and I really enjoy languages, psychology, and learning about different cultures. In my free time, I enjoy cooking for my family and making oatmeal cookies. I also love sharing little pieces of Dominican culture, especially the expressions and the way we naturally speak in everyday life.
As a Spanish coach, I want my classes to feel like a real conversation—not like you’re sitting in a classroom memorizing rules. We’ll talk, practice, laugh, and make mistakes along the way. I believe you learn much better when you feel comfortable enough to actually speak.
Being Dominican, I’d be happy to share my culture with you and help you understand some of the words, expressions, and ways of speaking that make Dominican Spanish so unique.
